Skunk!

What do you do if you happen to trap a skunk when you are trying to trap a rabbit? Well, I know what I would do, but it will be much more entertaining to tell you what my children decided to do while I was away for the weekend. First of all, the trap was set in place and baited by Fischer, our 6 year old. The day after setting it, Fischer went by himself to check and see what he had caught. Upon seeing the trap, he excitedly ran to it to see the animal inside. Not knowing exactly what it was, but positive that it was not a rabbit, he grabbed the trap and started for the house. During his travels, his older brother Skylar saw him and yelled at him to put it down because he saw that it was a skunk, and he knew there was something bad about that. They both ran to the house to get the other kids. Fischer, not exactly sure if he really believed Skylar, went and told Cedar, his younger brother, to go get the trap and bring it back tot he house. You see, we know why Fischer wanted Cedar to this, "It stunk really bad...". Meanwhile, Skylar had devised a plan to release the skunk, which would definitely need to include some sort of gear to protect himself from being "sprayed" (as he had found out from his older brother Keaton). The picture represents what he came up with. By now, the girls wanted to be a part of the action, so all of the winter gear was dug out of the attic, and the skunk had no chance of a peaceful get away! Eventually, after they were all sprayed, as well as the dogs, the skunk was released, and all was well. (Well, all except the awful smell that now resides on the clothes that now have a permanent home on the clothesline until they air out!)
